Florida
Florida is one of the deadliest states in terms of car accidents. I-4, which runs between Tampa and Daytona Beach, has consistently been ranked as one of the most fatal highways in the country. Statistics show that there are over 1.2 deaths per mile covering 130 miles.
Between locals and the hundreds of millions of tourists that Florida receives each year, there is simply too much room for error. Also worth noting is I-75, running from Northern Michigan to Miami. Any travelers from northern states are likely to come in on this interstate.
Wyoming
Planning on driving later in the day? You might want to avoid Wyoming. Although, drunk driving accidents can occur at any time.
It ranks as one of the top states with the worst roads because it has such a high score for DUI. Taking population into consideration, this state led the nation in DUI fatalities and arrests in 2019. They managed to rack up 6.2 fatalities and 550 arrests per 100,000 people.
Texas
As you’ll find with most highly populated states, they have the worst road conditions. This is simply explained by wear and tear and congestion. Texas also tops the list in terms of states with the worst roads.
